Barrier Canyon Style Panel
Details
Ron’s interpretation of a Barrier Canyon Style rock painting (pictograph) found in northwestern Colorado. Ron felt it was important to base his translation on the details of the panel prior to damage found in 1987. This grouping of patterned bodied Anthropomorphs (human forms) have been thought to mean many things from symbolizing family to Deities or spirit beings. This style of carving, found in an area showing occupation as early as 2700 B.C., is associated with Archaic hunting and gathering cultures.
